Research Interests

Dr. Tareq Al-Naffouri research interests are in statistical signal processing and its applications to wireless communications. Specifically, his research focuses on the design and analysis of adaptive filtering algorithms and on designing iterative/adaptive receivers for channel and data recovery in MIMO-OFDM transmission over time-variant channels.

His recent contributions are in multi-user information theory, particularly the scaling laws of broadcast and group broadcast schemes. He has also been interested in compressive sensing and its applications in signal processing and communications. He has also been exploring the areas of seismic signal processing and random matrix theory.

His research interest can be categorized in the following areas:

1) Multi-user Information Theory
2)
Channel Estimation and Equalization for MIMO-OFDM
3)
Adaptive Filtering Analysis and Design
4)
Applications of Compressive Sensing
5)
Statistical Characterization of Some Random Quantities
