Assistant Professor




Dr. Mohammad AlMuhaini is working as an assistant professor in the electrical engineering department at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) since Jan, 2013.


He holds a B.Sc and M.Sc Degrees in Electrical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) in 2004, and 2007 respectively. In 2012, he completed his P.hD program from Arizona State University (ASU), Tempe, US. His PhD research work was focused in evaluating the reliability of secondary distribution networks including distributed generation which is considered as a main challenge in the future smart grids. His dissertation chair was Prof. Gerald Heydt, He is a pioneer in power quality analysis techniques and transmission and distribution engineering. Prof. Heydt is also IEEE life fellow, Regents’ professor at ASU, and the site director of the Power Systems Engineering Research Center (PSerc) and the Future Renewable Electric Energy Distribution Management (FREEDOM) center.
