EE 411: Senior Project Design

Fall 2012 (121) Semester

Professor in Charge: Dr. Mohammad S. Sharawi

I would like to Welcome you all to my class. I hope you will find it beneficial and challenging!

Please check this website often, you will find notes, announcements, guidelines, and more.

Announcements:

1 Sep.  Class Notes:  Course Syllabus [ pdf ], Proposal Format [ pdf ], Final Presentation [ pdf ],

Final Report [ pdf ], Effective Posters [ pdf ].

There will be 2 sections of EE411, each section will have TWO groups, each group consists of 4-5 students.

Section 7 groups will work on a Project Entitled: "Wireless Tracking of a Moving Vehicle". In this project the groups will develop a wireless platform for tracking the movement of a moving target (a remote controlled car/quad-rotor). The wireless based tracking platform will consist of an inertial measurement unit (IMU) that is wireless compatible with a ZigBee transceiver. The team will program the modules, integrate them within the moving target, and develop a graphical user interface (GUI) using MATLAB or C to plot the trajectory of the moving target.

Section 9 groups will work on a Project Entitled: "A Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) Code Generator". In this Project the groups will design and implement a variable GNSS code generator based on a predefined code set (Gold Codes, Kasami, Binary Offset Carrier –BOC) and based on some a selection criteria, the codes will be generated and output from the FPGA board. The design will be made using Verilog HDL, and will be synthesized on the FPGA board. The spectrum of the various codes will be then investigated as well.
