Students are currently pro= viding one feedback about their faculty members at the end of the semester. There = is no chance for the faculty member to correct himself during the semester, un= til he sees his report in the middle of the next semester. In this situation bo= th students and Faculty members are suffering.
Some of students write the= re positive or negative comments about their teachers, books or about the cour= se. No faculty members had ever got any direct benefit from those comments or s= uggestion at all. Those comments may provide valuable help to faculty members for improving himself and meeting the students’ expectations.
At present students are us= ing the manual system to fill the teachers evaluation form. The evaluation forms are going from one hand to another until they get processed. If someone lost the forms envelop, there is no chance that teacher may receive his students evaluation at all. Some forms are not properly filled and got rejected by t= he machine during processing. Some students were absent on the evaluation days they will never get a chance to fill those forms again. In some situations = one person manually check all forms to see if the forms are properly filled. If= not then he either fill a new form or correct the current form etc.
Since mid term evaluation = is an additional job, and people are busy in accomplishing their regular task, th= is concept of having a mid term evaluation may not get popularity. While seeing its importance I decided to prepare an online web based student opini= on survey system which requires no human involvement exc= ept the students. They can fill this form at any time from anywhere and it will= not take more than 5 minutes of their time. They will be able to add their comm= ents in their own words regarding lecturer way of teaching, about the books or course etc. This will help tremendously both parties, the faculty member and his students in improving the quality of lecture and the <= u>learning of the students.
This Mid Term Evaluation w= ill be similar to the Final Evaluation. If this online web based Student Opinion Survey got the popularity among faculty members and students and acceptabil= ity from the administration then it can be used for the Final Evaluation purpos= es as well.
The approach for developin= g this software will be:

Every user (stude= nt, teacher and admin) will require a user id and password to enter into this system. In case any of the above users is missing, he can register himself anytime.
There will be a <= b>Register button on the screen. This will help above users to register them self in c= ase they are not registered.
All activities wi= ll start when teacher register his course.
Teacher wi= ll register his course to have a mid term evaluation. Teachers require a passw= ord to open teacher registration page for himself and his course. This password requirement is only to keep the students away from becoming a teac= her and register the course on teacher’s behalf. After teacher register h= is course for mid evaluation, then students will be able to register for that course.
NOTE: This password is a common password to open teacher registration page, whe= re as every Teacher will have a different password.
Student can register himself and he doesn’t require a password to reach student registration screen. He will register all of his courses one by one.
Admin will register himself to view all the reports. Admin needs a different password = than the teachers to open registration page to register himself as an Admin.
NOTE: This passwo= rd is a common password to open Admin registration page, where as every Admi= n user will have a different user id and password.
Once student will enter his User ID and Passw= ord, he will jump to Student’s welcome Page to choose whether it’s a= mid term evaluation or final evaluation.
In case he chooses mid term evaluation, he wi= ll be redirected to the mid term evaluation page.
He will select his Teacher name, Co= urse id, section, and semester; a questionnaire will be displayed to f= ill in. The last question is to fill comments, and then press the Submit button= .
He will receive a message “Thank you fo= r your feedback” only if he answers all questions and his information got recorded successfully. Please note that comments are optional.
He can login again and similarly he can enter= his feedback for all of his courses in one sitting.
As soon as he is done with his course, he will never be able to enter another feedback for his course again.
Once teacher will enter his User ID and Passw= ord, he will be redirected to Teacher’s welcome Page to choose whether it’s a mid term evaluation or final evaluation.
In case he chooses mid term evaluation, he wi= ll jump to mid term evaluation page.
He will select semester, Course id<= /b>, section (either he select one section no or select All to see all sectio= ns together), and report type (he can choose either Report Analysis or Comments).
Please Note:
