• Mostafa Abd-El-Barr (S'85-M'85-SM'92) received the B.Sc. amd M.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering in 1973 and 1979, respectively, from Cairo University, Egypt and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Tornoto, Ont., Canada in 1986. In July 1986 he joined the Faculty of the Department of Computer Science, University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Canada, where he has been promoted to the rank of Full Professor in in July 1993. In September 1993 he joined the College of Computer Sciences and Engineering at KFUPM as a Visiting Professor in the Computer Engineering Department. He is currently a Full Professor with the Depatment of Computer Engineering at KFUPM. He is an Adjunct Professor with the Departments of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Canada. He teaches courses on Digital Systems Design Automation, Computer Hardware and Architecture, VLSI Systems Design Methodology, Fault-Tolerant Computing, and CMOS Testability. His research interests include VLSI design and implementation of algorithms, Fault-tolerant Computing, CMOS Testability, Reliability and Fault-tolerant Routing in Computer Networks, and Multiple-valued Logic (MVL) Systems Design. Mostafa is the author and/or co-author of about 80 research publications produced mostly for International journals and conference proceedings. He is a Senior member of the IEEE (Computer Society) and a member of the ACM. Mostafa is also a "Certified Professional Engineering" in the Province of Ontario, Canada.
